GCSEs are looming for the Year 11s. The pressure to revise and hopefully do well is beginning to get to them. The girls however have other things on their minds including friendships, prom and boys. Paige is one of the most popular girls in the school and her group are some of the most well-known students. The younger girls look up to them and boys have crushes on them. The group look like the perfect dream team however with the pressure of exams, the cracks begin to show.

This episode explores the lives of three boys at different stages of their lives. There is twelve-year-old Louie who has started secondary school at Frederick Bremer. He struggles to make friends and starts to not attend school. There is also Devonte, he loves rap music and is constantly playing his favourite songs. He will often relax at school because of his strenuous responsibilities caring for his mother. Lastly, there is Charlie who is keeps having panic attacks due to the pressure of exams.

Ms Smith has 900 pupils in her care and feels responsible for every single one of them. She is often kept awake by the overwhelming responsibility. Ms Smith, Mr Bispham and Miss Hillman have to find multiple ways of engaging with the children to help them leave any troubles they may have at home. We are introduced to Hazel, a non-teaching pastoral support worker, who will often walk the corridors with her walkie-talkie. She had a bad experience of school, and feels she can connect with the students in an open manner.

It is election time at the school, pupils will get the chance to cast their vote of who they want to be Head Boy and Head Girl. The current Head Girl Maliaka is not the typical head girl. She is not the best student, has the worst disciplinary record and struggles to abide rules. However Maliaka's confidence is knocked when her boyfriend breaks-up with her. So she decides to throw her energy into the elections.
