The three finalists enter the sewing room for the very last time as they battle it out to be crowned Britain’s best amateur sewer. The judges are looking for avant-garde cutting-edge designs and the final features the trickiest pattern cutting ever seen on the show. At the end of the show the series champion is revealed.
The remaining hopefuls have to deal with some delicate lace and satins, before they take part in the alteration challenge .They then have to make a entire leather jacket in just six-and-a-half hours as they battle it out for a place in the final.
The remaining hopefuls need to try to keep track of the twelve pieces of fabric needed to make a boned corset. They then have to create power suit before facing the most demanding challenge yet which is to make kilt from scratch.
The finalists find their hand-stitching skills being put to the test as they are asked to make a man's tie. They then have to create a child's bridesmaid outfit from a wedding dress in the alteration task. Their final challenge sees them having to fit a made-to-measure gown for a model. At the end of the show the series winner is revealed.
The semi-finalists face another three challenges in which they are not allowed to use a pattern for guidance. They have to fit a dress to a mannequin, add a pair of symmetrical sleeves to a garment and create a replica of a favourite item of clothing. At the end of the show it is revealed who has made it through to the final.
The five quarter-finalists are challenged to create silky blouses from 1930s patterns using sewing machines from that period. The next challenge sees them having to transform men's suits into garments for women. The final challenge sees them fashioning complex and hefty made-to-measure coats taken from a vintage pattern. Only four of them will make it through to the semi finals.
Ten competitors attempt to impress the judges May Martin and Patrick Grant. The first challenge sees them having to make a simple tunic out of cotton. They then have to transform a plain high-street woollen skirt and fit a model with a made-to-measure silk nightgown.
The judges are reunited with Stuart, Sandra, Lauren and winner Ann. They share their experience and talents to show you how to make everything from Christmas table linen, to unique gifts and great tree decorations.
The four remaining hopefuls left in the running are set three more challenges by Patrick Grant and May Martin. They have to follow a pattern for a child's dress that tests their ability to follow couture techniques on a smaller scale, alter a dress with precision and make a made-to-measure jacket that has to fit their model perfectly. The judges then decide which two will of them go through to the final next week.
The six remaining contestants face another three challenges, which include following a pattern for a pair of men's trousers. At the end of the show another two of the hopefuls are eliminated from the show.
The hopefuls are set three challenges, starting by following a simple pattern to create an A-line skirt. They then have to transform a high-street top by altering the neckline and finally produce a made-to-measure dress for a model under intense time pressure. At the end of the show there is a double elimination.

This was when we decided to step in and not only to continue hosting the site but also to pimp it with some new
