    To avenge his brother's death, Kevin leads a retaliatory operation in Elmdale. The victims are numerous. Elizabeth immediately retaliates and mobilizes all the inhabitants to attack New Babylon. Sarah's memories are becoming clearer. She remembers the night of her family's massacre in great detail. The masks begin to fall.

Django tries to intercede with Judge Fourier, whom he has known since the Civil War. For his part, Seymour threatened to set fire to the oil wells of New Babylon so that the inhabitants would rally to Elizabeth's cause.
