Gabby discovers she is pregnant and finds her wife cheating on her.

Brockmire's mother, who abandoned him and his sister at a young age, comes to town. She challenges Brockmire's relationship with his sister and threatens Brockmire.

Brockmire struggles to accept that Jules is dating his good friend. In hopes of showing Jules the 'new Jim,' Brockmire begrudgingly agrees to put in a good word for Jules' boyfriend for a job at MLB Network.

Jim goes on a bender with his new nihilistic friend, Elle, who pushes him towards a new level of destruction. Brockmire ends up in the hospital again and finally takes rehab seriously. Charles approaches Jim with a new opportunity.

Jim takes a new gig as an Atlanta major league announcer. Charles focuses on the new direction his career might take. Confronted with the truth about a legendary announcer, Jim attempts to do the right thing in the most Brockmire-way possible.

Following the death of his father, Jim is forced to deal with his dysfunctional family when he arrives in Missouri for his funeral. As a result, he tries his best to make amends with his family.

Despite Jim's protests, Charles needs the night off for his birthday. Jim attempts to throw him a party, but things quickly get out of hand. Tensions arise when Jim shows up at Charles' birthday dinner and meets his judgmental family.

Brockmire must choose between staying in Morristown with Jules or returning to the major leagues. Jules holds a stadium-wide drinking contest. An intense play on the field leads to a victorious moment and a surprising conclusion.

Brockmire and Jules have a pregnancy scare. Brockmire works out his father issues with Charles. Jules and Brockmire decide to take a road trip to Pittsburgh.

Brockmire's ex-wife, Lucy, reappears. Forced to confront his emotions, Brockmire defaults to drinking. Things quickly spiral out of control when he finds a target for his anger.

Jim and Jules hook up the night before the Frackers win a game. They attempt to keep the lucky streak going on and off the field. Meanwhile, Brockmire contemplates what Jules means to him.
